Following are the places to successfully promote your web site or blog and get it on the top pages of Google, Yahoo and Live. All top search engine optimizers use these strategies. But, the only problem is that the list is too long to be done properly and the work is very boring too.

Other strategies for link building - Link Building Strategies
- Participate in forums - Put link to your site/blog in your signature. Almost all forums allow you to put links in your signature. This will not only get you traffic but also help your search engine ranking improve.
- Exchange links with others - Don't just ask for an exchange and forget the guy forever. First put a link to his/her blog/site and then inform them about it and ask them politely to link to you. Don't behave as if you are talking to them just for a link.
- Comment on Dofollow blogs - Leave genuine comments with link to your site/blog on your niche blogs.
- Join groups - Join groups (Yahoo!, Google, MSN etc) and help others. Leave link to your blog/site in your signature.
- Post free classified ads on sites like Craigslist, Oodle, Kijiji etc
